Your donation brings comfort, peace, support
How Your Donation Helps
Reimbursements from Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance cover about 85% of the cost for our patients and families.
YOUR donation helps fill the remaining gap – ensuring that no patient is turned away because of an inability to pay. Only donations to Gulfside Hospice make this possible and all donations are used right here in Tampa Bay.
Your donation helps provide:
Medicine
Donations help cover the cost of medications that bring comfort and ease pain. Just $100 provides a week of medication for a hospice patient in need.
Donate NowMedical Equipment
Hospice patients receive equipment such as hospital beds, oxygen tanks, walkers, and more.
Donate NowNursing Care
Expert compassionate care provided through nursing visits is at the heart of hospice. Your donation of $250 provides two days of nursing care for a hospice patient in need.
Donate NowCounseling Services
Social workers are available to serve patients and families in their time of greatest need, working to coordinate services, help with planning, or lend a shoulder for support.
Donate NowSpiritual Support
Non-denominational chaplains provide bedside comfort to patients ands, and give peace to families. Your donation ensures every patient receives it.
Donate NowBereavement
Families can rely on bereavement counselors through support groups and individual consults for up to 13 months after a loved one's passing. A gift of $500 provides four days of bereavement counseling.
Donate NowWays to Give
Explore options for personally supporting Gulfside hospice patients in need:
Remember a loved one through a named memorial.
The Butterfly Memorial Gardens offer a place where the flutter of butterfly wings brings peace amid a tranquil setting for serenity and reflection in your choice of two locations – New Port Richey or Zephyrhills.
The Walls of Caring offer a permanent tribute to those whose lives have been touched by hospice at the location of your choice – Dr. Jay Weil Center for Hospice Care (New Port Richey) or Rucki Hospice Care Center (Zephyrhills).
Planned gifts offer flexible giving options that can help you make a larger charitable impact than you may have thought possible while potentially providing financial benefits, including income for life.
A Charitable Lead Trust provides payments to a charitable organization for a specified period of time or during your lifetime, while preserving the remaining assets for beneficiaries such as your children or grandchildren.
A Charitable Remainder Trust provides income to you and/or another beneficiary for life or for a set term. After that period ends, the remaining assets are distributed to the charitable organization(s) you choose.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are one of the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicles in the United States and are widely recommended by financial advisors as a flexible and tax-efficient way to support the causes you care about most.
Similar to a charitable savings account, a DAF allows you to make a contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to nonprofit organizations—such as Gulfside—over time.
DAFs also make it easy to donate appreciated assets, including stocks and real estate. These gifts may help you avoid capital gains taxes while potentially increasing the impact of your charitable giving.
In addition, DAFs are accessible to many donors, as they can typically be opened with little or no minimum contribution requirement.
If you are 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows you to make a tax-free gift directly from your IRA to Gulfside or another qualified charity.
Because the funds go directly to charity, the distribution is excluded from your taxable income, which may help lower your tax burden and reduce the impact on Medicare premiums.
A QCD can also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), making it a smart way to support a cause you care about while maximizing tax benefits.
Thank a special Gulfside Hospice caregiver or team by naming them as a Hospice Hero with your donation of any size. All Hospice Heroes are recognized with a special dove pin and commemorative certificate hand-signed by Gulfside President and CEO Linda L. Ward. Indicate who you are nominating in the Dedication section of the online form, or call 727-845-5707 to speak to a member of the Philanthropy team.
Moments of care, Every Month
Think of the small items that you routinely handle during the course of every month: morning coffee at the drive through, a streaming service, an area gym membership. Just part of your life, but adding a small monthly gift to Gulfside can make a world a difference to a patient in need.
Through Gulfside’s Giving Every Month (GEM) program, donors provide steady support that helps ensure compassionate care is always there when families need it most.
Sometimes, helping someone in your community begins with something as simple as $10 a month.
Choose a monthly gift instead of a one-time donation and make an even bigger impact. Fill out the information below to get started, or contact us at 727-845-5707 or giving@gulfside.org.
