Volunteer at Gulfside Hospice Thrift Shoppes
Looking for a fun and different way to earn Community Service Hours for your college application or programs like Florida's Bright Futures? Come volunteer with us! You'll be able to work in a variety of roles at one of our four Thrift Shoppes throughout Pasco County.
Check out some of the ways our volunteers help at our Shoppes everyday.
A role for every volunteer
Donation Handling
Our four locations each receive a variety of donations every day. Every item must be examined, sorted, and readied for the Shoppe floor. We have volunteers who sort through electronics, testing them to ensure they work, or sorting through clothing to determine if it can be sold or must be recycled. Items must also be researched and tagged with price stickers.

RETAIL DISPLAY
With new items coming through the door every day, we are constantly changing our displays to reflect what's new and hot. Help our staff design eye-catching displays by grouping merchandise together with flair. If you are interested in design or sales, this is a great way to get experience!

Cashier Help
Do you have experience in customer service? Have you worked with a point-of-sale machine? Our cashiers could use your assistance! Help our customers with wayfinding in the store, or point out items they are searching for, or help at the sales counter with check out.

Sorting & Modeling
Do you know the hottest brands? Can you put together a cute outfit from the sales racks? We need your expertise! Sort donated clothing for size, type, and color, put items on hangers and on the right rack. Find a great outfit and model it for photos used on our social media, or include it as a featured outfit on display!

Organization & Cleaning
With new donations coming in every day, we need help making room for everything. That means organizing sections of the store, including furniture and housewares, to ensure everything has a place. We ensure the stores are kept neat and clean, with volunteers performing light cleaning tasks like sweeping.

About our Thrift Shoppes
Gulfside Hospice Thrift Shoppes are primarily volunteer-run. Thanks to the hard work and hours given by volunteers, the Shoppes are able to provide an additional source of funding for patient care. Our goal is that no patient is turned away from hospice care due to financial hardship.
All Thrift Shoppe volunteers receive specialized training at the Shoppe of their choice. Plus, volunteers receive up to 50% off when shopping at any of the Gulfside Hospice Thrift Shoppes!
Follow us on our social media channels for the latest updates!
